About the Company
Little over a year after Indonesian independence, Galva Radio and Electric Services Firm had the proud distinction of being established as the first privately owned electronics company in the newly formed nation. Our founders, Uripto Widjaja, Subrata Pranatadjaja, and Okar Senda, set up shop on what is now Jalan Hayam Wuruk in Central Jakarta. This small operation originally dealt with used radios and repairs, but quickly expanded into a distributor of imported radios. By 1953, the company had grown sufficiently to undergo a rebranding, and changed its name to NV Galva Trading Company. Over the years, our brand has gone through many iterations as it has continued to grow from strength to strength; eventually becoming the highly respected modern business entity that is Galva Group.
